Assembly Builder User Interface

Camera Controls

To Rotate

Hold the right mouse button and drag

To Pan

Hold the middle mouse button and drag

To Zoom

Scroll the middle mouse


User Interface Description


1. Breadcrumb

        Secondary navigation

2. Model panel

Hierarchy of the model. Selecting a part here will highlight that part in the 3d model

3. Work area

    Area for the 3d model

4. Timeline

Scrub for the assembly timeline 

5. Menu button

    Allows users to exit the application.

6. Save and Exit buttons

Clicking on the Save button will save any changes. The Exit button will close the edit screen and will take you back to the Virtual Object manager page.

    7. Assembly panel

        Panel for authoring a step-by-step instruction    

8. Step Value

    Changing the value will re-order the step.

9. Delete button

    This will delete the step                                      

10. Title

    This is the title of the step

11. Instruction

    This is the instruction of the step

12. Time field

    Field for the time (in seconds) in the assembly timeline

13. Image attachment

There are 2 ways to attach an image: Upload from your computer or take a snapshot at the current time in the timeline

14. Step type

    The type of step. It can be either Mechanical, Wiring or Snapshot

15. Visibility button

    Highlights the 3d model when toggled depending on what type of step

16. Wire start point and end point

    Dropdown with a list of the parts of the model. 

17. Pencil button (Part selection tool)

Instead of selecting a part from the dropdown, clicking on this will allow you to select directly from the 3d model.

18. Intermediate Points

Add intermediate points between the start and end points. The + (plus) button will add a point.

19. Intermediate Point

You can adjust the intermediate point by typing values in the X, Y, and Z coordinates. The x (delete) button will delete the point 

20. New step button

Opens up a drop down/pop-up of the type of steps you can add (Mechanical, Snapshot or Wiring).


VR Experience User Interface

VR Controls

    Vive

1. Teleport button

    Hold down the button, aim at the ground, and release to teleport to the location

2. Trigger 

    Point the green selection laser at a target (e.g. a button), and pull the trigger to use it

3. Menu button

    Select this button to open a settings panel

Oculus Quest Controls

    

1. Teleport Button

    Press the control stick down to teleport, the laser coming out of the controller will turn into a bezier line. On release the user will move to the end of the bezier pointer location.

2. Menu Button

    Open the main menu with this button. The ability to change your height and other features are accessible here.

3. Selection Button

Used to make UI selections and confirmations. The laser coming out of the controller is what you are using to indicate your selection.

4. Grip Button

    Press and hold to pick up objects in the scene.

5. Oculus Button

    Press this button to open the Oculus menu. This is not used by the HM system.

6. Trigger Button

    This button is used to use objects in the scene. Point at objects with the laser coming out of the controller to use objects or place your controller within the immediate proximity of the object you intend to use.

    Click and hold to drag the instruction panel

    ‘E’ while looking at object to unsnap


  1. Collider


    ‘Left click’ when holding an object to ‘collide’ two gameobjects together


  1. Jump


    ‘Space’ to jump


  1. Pause Menu


    ‘Esc’ to open pause menu


  1. Chat Menu


    ‘T’ to open chat menu 


  1. Close Menu


    ‘Tab’ to close any menu


  1. Lock/Unlock Cursor


    ‘Esc’ to Lock or Unlock the cursor

AR Controls


1. Bumper button

    Click the bumper to reset the virtual object model and the steps panel

2. Trigger 

    Point the selection laser at a target (e.g. a button), and pull the trigger to use it

3. Touchpad

    Use the touchpad in conjunction with the trigger when manipulating objects to perform    
            tool-specific actions  

Simulation Selection Panel Interface Description

    

1. Simulation

    The available simulation(s). Click on one to load a simulation.

    Change between scale and translate or close the application

    Change between the translate, rotate, and scale tools or confirm your model placement.
